Aaron “Ron” Clay Newborn, 78, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial. Service will be Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He graduated from Sheffield High School in 1956 and was a member of the Sheffield Bulldog Breakfast Club. He was a member of IBEW Local 558, Master Electrician for 55 years. Ron retired a Major with Alabama National Guard with 30 years and was a former company commander of Sheffield National Guard. Ron’s career included disc jockeying and news casting.
Mr. Newborn was preceded in death by parents, Clay and Marie Newborn and sister, Frances McCoy; in-laws, Leslie and Alta Seago.
Survived by Doris Seago Newborn and children, Alex Newborn (Debbie), Amber Hammock (Frankie) and Leslie Birdsong (Chad); grandchildren, Dillon Birdwell, Ashlie Drewery (Michael), Tucker Hammock (Kelsey), Orion and Zakary Newborn; great grandchildren, Houston and Anniston; nieces, Regina, Rhonda and other numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Joe Lee McCoy, Bill Seago (Fran), Don Seago (Vicki); special friends, Fred and Peggy Pendergrass.
Pallbearers are Chad Birdsong, Michael Drewery, Frankie Hammock, Alex Newborn, Tucker Hammock, and Dillon Birdwell. Honorary will be Fred Pendergrass and Joe Lee McCoy.
