Dee Glover, Jr.

Dee went home to be with his Lord Monday, December 5, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. at Royal Avenue Free Will Baptist Church; in Florence, AL with service to follow at 2p.m. Brother Charles Marable and Brother Tim Hanback will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

He is preceded in death by parents, Dee Glover, Sr. and Maggie Glover; three brothers; six sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 61 wonderful years, Alma Ruth Glover; sons, Tim Glover (Glenda) and Alan Glover; daughters, Cindy Watson (Donald), Vivian Fuller (Carlton), Lesa Glover, and Derenda Kitchens (Kit); 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dee was a member of the UAW and retired from Ford Motor Company and GM, but the job he loved most was the 54 years he served his God as a minister of the gospel. He pastored three churches over the years; New Home Free Will Baptist in Central, Friendship Free Will Baptist in Sheffield, and Royal Avenue Free Will Baptist in Florence; he loved leading others to Christ. Dee’s second love was his family. He was always a hard worker and a good provider. Dee loved his wife of 61 years with all his heart. She was the love of his life. He loved his six kids and all his grandkids so much. He had many interest and hobbies but the biggest was music. He loved to play music and sing and he did that whenever he could and his favorite song was Beulah Land and now he is there. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend who will be sorely missed.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
