Earvin V Barnes

Mr. Earvin V. Barnes, Jr., 85 of Tuscumbia, AL went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 6, 2017. He was a member of Little Bear Creek Baptist Church where he loved to go to church and a member of Littleville Senior Citizen. He loved playing Bingo, cards, and golf.  His family will receive friends for visitation Monday, September 11, 2017 at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 11am – 1pm with Bro. A.G. Stepp officiating the service in the chapel at 1pm. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Earvin is preceded in death by his parents Earvin V. Barnes, Sr. and Susie Barnes; brother, Burdell Barnes; sister, Rita Jayroe; daughter, Virginia McMurtrey and a step-grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Barnes; sons, Jerry Barnes of Indiana, and Kenneth Barnes of Alabama; daughters, Barbara Verbosky (Jim) of Indiana, and Lela Barnes of Indiana; grandchildren, Jimmy, Aaron, Dustin, Sam and Seth Verbosky, Amanda Ogden, Timmy Hixon, Matthew Barnes, Joey Horn, Nafisha Collins, and Chris Barnes; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
