Edres “Blanche” Ayers- Fornwalt passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Caprice Health Care Center. Blanche as she was known to family and friends was born January 8, 1924 in Leighton, Alabama, the daughter of James Boston and Levency Hammack Ayers. She moved to the valley and Canfield Ohio in 1959 and later settled in Baordman. Blanche married her beloved husband J. Donald Fornwalt, December 1965 and he passed away October 29, 1997.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her time working as a waitress at Shott’s Restaurant in Boardman and the idle Hour Restaurant in North Lima.
Blanche took pleasure in many activities including gardening, reading, cooking and going to garage sales. Her greatest joys however were her four grandchildren. She loved spending time with them delighting in their vast accomplishments.
In addidtion to her husband, Blanche was preceded in death by her five brothers; Monroe, Leon, Fred, Roy and Clete Ayers, as well as her two sisters; Evlene Stewards and Omie Evans.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons; James “Randy” (Joan) Fornwalt and Roy Benjamin Fornwalt both of Boardman, OH. and her grandchildren; Nicole and Aleander Fornwalt both of Columbus OH, Christina Fornwalt (Fiancé Jeremy Hicks) of St. Louis, MO. and Roy Benjamin Formwalt Jr. of Cleveland, OH. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister Bonnie Joyce Garrison and brother Buddy and Hillard Ayers all of Leighton, Al.
Visitation will be from 10:30- 11:00 AM at Colbert Memorial Chapel, 700 Highway 43 South Tuscumbia, Al. 35674 with service to follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made in Blanche’s name to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Boardman, Ohio. Local arrangements are by the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
