Elba P. "Judy" Willis

On this day, January 17, 2017, the Lord called home another angel. She was born on January 20, 1945. Mrs. Willis had fought a diligent fight against cancer for the past three years. She was born on January 20, 1945 in Franklin County. Mrs. Willis was an O.B. nurse at Helen Keller hospital for over 20 years where she served each of her patients with a tender and loving care that she felt everyone deserved.

Mrs. Willis was married on July 7, 1962 to her husband of 54 years, Mr. Jerry O. Willis. She is also survived by her son Shawn, wife Traci. Grandchildren Erin and Caleb Willis were the two lights that shined the brightest in her life. She was always quick to have a picture or story of each one. She had a passion for greeting cards for those in need of an encouraging word.

She was predeceased by her parents Horace and Ruby Fuller of Russellville, AL. Living siblings are Mrs. Betty Dennim, of Sylvania, GA., Mrs. Mildred Sanderson and Mr. Jack Fuller of Russellville, AL.

Services will be held at Colbert Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2017, with visitation from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. and the service in the chapel to follow. Brother Greg Woodall will be conducting the service. Pallbearers will be Chuck Wallace, Al Chard, Bob Dooley, Terry Moore, Ray Nichols, Randy Bassham.

Thanks to the numerous nurses at Helen Keller and the hospice nurses who shared their sweet thoughts and advice and to Drs. Patel, Hagler, Carmichael, Athanasuleus, and Moody. A special thanks to Drs. Brian Richards and John Young for your knowledge, commitment and unwavering support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Association or St. Jude Childrens Research hospital.
