Elvene Scott Atwell

Elvene Scott Atwell, 91, of Glasgow, KY died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Diversicare Healthcare in Glasgow. She was born December 22, 1926 in Neelyville, MO, the daughter of the late Bert Elihue Scott and Flora Beulah Dudley Scott. She was one of thirteen children and a twin. Visitation will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 12 noon in the chapel. Brother Robert Shirley will be officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Cherokee, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Homer Atwell.

She spent her career in the retail industry and for many years was a department manager for Venture Stores. She loved the Lord and served in the music and various other ministries of several churches throughout her life. At her passing she was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church.

She is survived by her seven children, Roy Dean Atwell (Sue) of Acworth, GA, Carol Yvonne Reynolds of Ste. Genevieve, MO, Cherelyn Clark of Vacaville, CA, Debra Kantosky (Bill) of  Lucas, KY, Karla Lawson (Mike) of Houston, TX, Timothy Atwell of Acworth, GA, and Kimberly Burke (Chuck) of Vacaville, CA; 17 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Donald Ray Scott; sisters, Iris Campbell and Fuchia Scott.
