Alice Faye Kennett passed away on Thursday, December 01, 2016 at age 78. She was born December 08, 1937 to Houston and Lydia Hovater Malone. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 05, 2016 at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Brother Scott Inman will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Faye was an avid gardener. It was not unusual to see friends and family invited to pick from her many fruit trees, blueberries, and garden vegetables. Family was everything to her and she made sure they were fed and always cooked “goodies” for what she referred to as her “babies”, banana bread being one of their favorites.
Preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Lydia Malone; brothers, Olen and Coleman; sisters, Opal, Lenise, Jacqueline, Addie, LeEllen, and Lurlie; Infant brother, and granddaughter, Kyla.
Survivors are her beloved husband of 60 wonderful years, Henry Kennett; sons, Brian Drake Kennett, Lawrance Kennett (Donna); daughters, Lennie Gamble, Stephanie Palmer (Mike); her brothers, Amos and Robert Malone; grandchildren, Alison, Ben, Brandi, Griffin, Ashley, Reuben, Lake, Reece, Chase and Evan; 14 great grandchildren; host of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Special thanks to many friends who brought food and snacks during her hospital stay. Faye will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
Our hope is to have the “giving heart” that our mother always showed.
