Jane Fretwell (Reeps) Hargett

Mary Jane Fretwell Hargett, 82, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Service will be at Bethsaida Baptist Church Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Bethsaida Cemetery. Brother Stanley Hargett and Brother Tony Gasaway will be officiating.

She was retired as a Home Day Care Provider and extended day worker with Muscle Shoals City Schools. She cared for many children in her 40 years of service.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Odell Fretwell and  second husband, Johnny Hargett who brought laughter and companionship in her later years; parents, Roma Glen Reeps and Marie Elizabeth Reeps; brothers, Bobby Glen Reeps, Steve Reeps, and Billy Reeps; sisters, Bernice Barnes, Mot Davis, and Liz Hill.

Survivors are her sons, Benjamin Fretwell Tortora (Paul), Glen Fretwell (Jason Graae), and Phillip Fretwell (Cara); granddaughters, Megan Fretwell Pigg (Bennie), Morgan Fretwell Hall (Ethan); three beautiful great granddaughters, Saylor Jo Hall, Caraline Pigg and Cassidy Hall; sister-in-law, Martha Nell Reeps; brother-in-law, Pete Hill.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Pigg, Ethan Hall, Bruce Davis, Mark Reeps, Roger Crittenden, and Phillip Vandiver.

Special thanks to Brentwood Retirement Community for their loving care and for making her smile and laugh the last few weeks of her life.
