Like many west Colbert residents of the time, Joann’s grandfather, Dr. James Morrol Harris delivered her, on March 27th, 1929. As long as Joann was able to live at home, she slept in the same bed in which she was born. Joann went to Allsboro, then Cherokee schools, was a leader in 4H Club in high school. After two years at Florence State Teachers College, she went to New York City and obtained employment at the Jeweler’s Board of Grade. In May she met the “Love of her Life” Charles Frazer. They married and had one son, Eric Harris Fraser. Joann was a banker twenty one years and a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, a long time member of the Rivermont Garden Club and Shoals Elks Lodge. She was married after she had been widowed to Bruce Wilson. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles B. Fraser and Bruce A. Wilson; parents, John Henry and Monte Sewell Harris; brother, John Sewell Harris.
She is survived by her son, Eric Harris Fraser.
Special thanks to the 4th floor nurses, caregivers, physical therapists, and CNA’s at Shoals Hospital for their loving care.
