Opal Thorne

Opal Kuykendall Thorne, 95, of Coondog Cemetery Road passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Brother Greg Beasley and Brother Frankie Laboone will be officiating. Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Dezz Thorn; husbands, Edward Kuykendall, Leonard King, and Howard Thorne; brothers, Elmer, Ernest, and Paul Thorn; sister, Madge Donaldson.

She is survived by her sons, Richard (Carol), Jimmy (Cathy), and Harold (Marie) Kuykendall; daughter, Janeice (Robert) Gober; sister-in-law, Lorene Thorn; grandchildren, Kenric Crosswhite, Cory (Dusty), Todd (Sarah), William (Jessica), Nathan (BreAnna), James (Ashley), Kuykendall, Adara (Kevin) Cromeans; eight great grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, Regan, Lily, Evie, Rylee, Noah, and Isaac Kuykendall; and other family members.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren.
