Shelby Jean Coan, age 78, of Leighton, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015. Her visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Her funeral service will be Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Richard Parker will be officiating.
Mrs. Coan was preceded in death by her parents; John and Mable (Miller) Inman, husband Theron “ Curley” Coan, son; Greg Coan, brothers; Edward Inman, Vester (Beanie) Inman and Archie Inman. Sisters; Julia Alexander and Pauline Rutherford.
Survivors are sons; Michael Timothy Coan of Leighton, Al., daughter; Debra Coan Matlock of Leighton, Al. sister; Beulah Agnes Sharpton of Muscle Shoals, Al. and Shirley O’ Dell of Muscle Shoals, Al. grand children Misty Matlock of Leighton, Al., Emily Counts, Leighton, Al., Kimberly Taylor of Cherokee, Al., Whitney Farris, Birmingham, Al., Haley Aycock, of Leighton, Al.
Mrs. Coan was a member of Hopewell Church of Christ, homemaker and loving mother.
