David Phillips Obituary

David Clayton Phillips was the fifth child born to Clayton Lomax and Edna Malinda Davis Phillips on November 11, 1944 in Lafayette, La.  He was preceded in death by both his parents, his son, Kristofer Clayton Phillips, brothers Joseph Daniel (infant), Robert  Samuel, and Henry Charles Phillips. God called David to his heavenly home on June 10, 2018.

He is survived by his loving wife, Randi Gail Smith-Phillips, son, Steven David Phillips (Han Mi), daughter, Katherine Michelle Phillips (Justin), and precious grandsons, William and Zachary Phillips.  He also leaves behind siblings Leo (Pearl), Frank (Linda), Carolyn (Verlon Frost), Eddie (Linda), Harry (Amanda) and Sylvia (David Payne) followed by a vast number of devoted nieces and nephews.

David retired from AT&T after 34 years of service, and also served in the Alabama Army National Guard as a member of the 20th Special Forces Group.

We are so thankful to Cottage of the Shoals, and the wonderful caring staff for their passion and devoted assistance. David deeply loved his family.  He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend.  He took great pride in their pup, Spencer.  He and Randi were residents of Florence, Alabama, having recently moved from their long time home in Orange Beach.

Please join our family for a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM, June 16, 2018.  This will be held at Mulder Methodist Church Carter Hall, 3454 Firetower Rd, Wetumpka Alabama.
