Elbert L Norton

Elbert Larkin Norton, 75, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017.  Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.at Colbert Memorial Chapel with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Elbert was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Brother Ted Vafeas will officiate. Elbert was a great gardener and loved to go fishing when he could, and loved his pet dog (Charlie).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Norton and Elizabeth Fry and step-father, Galen Fry.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Norton, of Muscle Shoals; sons, Matt Norton (RaeDene), of Boston, MA, and Jeff Norton (Stacey) of Russellville; stepsons, Brad Crawford (Betty Ann), of Muscle Shoals and Brian Crawford (Dawn) of Montgomery; sisters, Sara Howard (Cecil) of Leighton, Frances Pettus, of Greenhill, Mary Summers (Johnnie), of Florence, and Anna Broadfoot (Buck), of Florence; grandchildren, Allison Wagnon (Adam) of Muscle Shoals, Rebecca Norton, of Tuscaloosa, Caleb Norton, Kaden Norton, and Kieran Smith, all of Russellville.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Willis, Lane Roland, Cecil Howard, Buck Broadfoot, Caleb Norton, and Adam Wagnon.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church building fund or St. Jude’s.
