Martha Pearl Shelton, 89, of Tuscumbia, AL passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Matthew Shelton will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Martha was a member of Spring Valley Church of Christ. She retired from Alabama State Employment Service, after many years of dedicated service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Ester Sparks; husband, James Edward Shelton of 65 years; brothers, Hollis, Vincent, L.N., Edwin, Leslie, and Coolidge Hill Sparks and sister, Clois Sparks Cothren.
She is survived by her son, Edward Hill Shelton (Holly) of Montgomery, AL and daughter, Clois Ann Shelton Skipworth (Stanley) of Tuscumbia, AL; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Bart Shelton, Robbie Shelton, Jerrold Skipworth, Todd Bush, Walt Bush, and Ray Counts.
