Mary Catherine (Brown) Hester

Mary Catherine Hester, 73, of Muscle Shoals passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Brother Ben Hayes and Brother Gilbert Behel will officiate. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. She was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Vera Brown; husband, John D. Hester; brother, Jimmy Brown; sister, Patsy Keenum, and her infant brother.

She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Wells (Neil) of Prattville, AL and Beth Loften (Eddie) of Tuscumbia; sisters, Jean McNatt and Betty Ogletree; grandchildren Cassie Miller (Mike), Lauren Wells Fiancé (Tyson) Pickard, Hannah Loften, and Sarah Kate Loften; great-grandchild, Mae Miller; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Pallbearers will be Tim Keenum, Ricky Ogletree, Ronald McNatt, Wade Behel, Mike Miller, and Tyson Pickard.

The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Vaklavas of UAB, Nurses and Staff of Women’s Center at UAB, the Nurses and Staff at J.W. Sommer Rehab and her many dear friends, including Jean Kelley and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Park Church of Christ and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
