Rosemary R. Preuit

Rosemary Robertson Preuit died Monday, May 15, 2017 following a brief illness.She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Richard Gordon Preuit; her parents, William G. and Ollie P. Robertson; her siblings and their spouses, Theresa ‘Terry’ Loughead (George) and William G. ‘Bill” Robertson (Joan); her sister-in-law Carolyn Preuit Fennel (Ben); her daughter Elizabeth Johnson and her grandson, James Terry.

She is survived by her son, Richard Gordon Preuit Jr; daughter-in-law, Robin Rummel Preuit; grandson, Richard Gordon Preuit III; grand-daughter, Rachel Hayden Preuit; her daughter, Theresa Preuit Rhodes; son-in-law, Donald E. Rhodes; her daughter, Rosemary Preuit Thompson; her grandson, Christopher Michael Thompson and his wife Carrie Raizes Thompson; her daughter, Olivia Preuit Davidson; son-in-law, Michael Davidson; her daughter, Catherine Preuit; grand-daughter, Mary Virginia ‘Ginny’ Johnson and great-grandson Robbie Johnson; and nieces and nephews.

Born in Tampa, Florida, Rosemary was a 1948 graduate of Ottowa Hills High School and attended Grand Rapids Junior College where she was affiliated with Chi Kappa Phi Sorority.   She moved to Leighton in 1951 and was devoted to her family and her faith.  She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia where she served as Circle II chairwoman and member of the Travelers Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 17 in the annex of First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia.  The service will begin at 2:00 with the Dr. Randy Thompson officiating.  Private burial will follow.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude, Covenant College, or the charity of your choice.  Colbert Memorial Gardens of Tuscumbia is assisting the Preuit Family with arrangements.  The family thanks the staff of Brookdale and the compassionate attention of Dr. Robert Web and the Palliative Care Staff at ECM.
