David Hallmark Obituary

David Lamar Hallmark, 78, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in his home surrounded by family.

He was from Pinson, Alabama. He greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was in car sales for over 45 years and known as “Teddy Bear” and the “Round Man with the square deal”. He was retired from Jim Bishop and Ray Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D.L. “Doc” and Era Belle Hallmark, and siblings, Eloise “Butch” Files (Cliff), Horace Hallmark, Betty Jo Marler (Herbie), Jerri Ruth Patterson (Pat), and George Clifton Hallmark.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, David Hallmark lll (Jennifer), Wade Defoor (Cherrylyn), and Heath Defoor (Shae); grandchildren, Savannah and Brelynn Hallmark, Sydney and Landon Defoor; and brother, Richard Hallmark (Gloria); numerous nieces and nephews.

Family meant the world to him and he was a loving, devoted husband, father, and “Papa”.

He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with the funeral to follow in the chapel.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bishop, Austin Hallmark, Jeff Norwood, Sammy Mitchell, Ronnie Garner, and Adam Rue. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Long and Johnny Wright.
