Floyd Ray Moreland, 72, of Tuscumbia, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 after an extended illness. Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2020 from noon-2 p.m.at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Dr. Jeff Davis will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
He enjoyed hunting and was a shift operator of paper machine 30 at International Paper for over 25 years. He was a member of the Baptist faith and a Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff for Colbert County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Blanche Moreland; brothers, Trenton, Nile, and James Moreland; and sister, Wanda Lee Moreland.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Ann Moreland; children, Tammy Moreland and Chris Moreland; step-daughter, Darlene Dutton (Mark); brothers, Lloyd Moreland (Patricia), and Tom Moreland (Ginger); sisters, Dorene Hannah, Dorothea Moreland, and Linda Kay Davis (Larry); granddaughter, Breanna Rae Moreland; step-grandson, Zachary Dutton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family.
Pallbearers will be James Moreland, Dewight Moreland, Jason Moreland, Michal Moreland, Ricky Rohling, John Ray Gargis, and Josh Hacker. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Sherrill, Larry Davis, and Keith McHargue.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. N. Rao Boorgu, Dr. Rajesh Boorgu, Dr. Dewight Matthews, Shoals Home Health, and Shoals Hospice for the care given to Floyd.
