Jimmy Taylor Obituary

Jimmy Ford Taylor born June 5, 1944 was received by his Lord and Savior on June 13, 2020 at the age of 76 years old. Jimmy was born to James Taylor and Marvelene Taylor from Russellville, Alabama. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The service will be Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Shane Swinney will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. He was a member of Lunch Point Church. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Taylor from Russellville, Alabama.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and fishing partner of 56 years, Glenda May Taylor; his three children, daughters, Angelia “Angie” Taylor, LaDonna “Donna” Taylor (Bobby); son, Kevin “Randy” Taylor (Jessica) ; grandchildren, Tyler Wells, Laura Wells, Wesley Wells, Stephanie Nichols (Kawon), Rachael Frye (Bobby), Hillary Taylor, and Casssidy Taylor, Alex Neels, and Alex Bailey; great grandchildren, Azariah Payne, Eden Decatur, Willow Holmes, Temperance Holmes, and Kyron Frye; brother, Glynn P. Taylor (Janice); sister, Carolyn Ann Taylor Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was loved by so many and will be missed by all. Taking the titles of daddy, Uncle Jimmy, and granddaddy, he excelled at all and lived by example. He loved his God, his church, and his family, and that love was returned by everyone that knew him. He never met a stranger and was the first to lend a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. Jimmy loved to fish, rooting on the Crimson Tide and working on anything he could get his hands on. Jimmy was the foundation strength and pillar that we all leaned on. He will always be loved and forever missed.
