Joyce Faye (Butts) Mackey

Joyce Faye Butts Mackey, 68, went to her heavenly home on August 24, 2021.  She went peacefully in her home located in Sheffield, AL surrounded by those she loved, and those who loved her. Born on October 26, 1952, to Robert Louis Butts and Nona Faye Butts. She came to know Jesus as her Savior at a young age. We rest knowing she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bobby Butts.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Mike Mackey, her children, Steve Morgan, Jr., Cindy Honey (Josh), her sister, Lela Sipes, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She worked many years as a fire, police, and 911 dispatcher.

Joyce loved her family well. She lived a life of loving, caring, and putting others first. She was known as wife, daughter, mom, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed nature, animals, and Atlanta Braves. She will be greatly missed. The world was a better place because she was in it.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 1 p.m. for family at Shoals Memorial Gardens.
