Jacob “Jake” Stephen Smith, age 35, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016. Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield. Brother Bryan McIntyre will be officiating. He was dedicated to his family. He enjoyed deer hunting, football, and Braves baseball. He had great friends and loved them dearly.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by grandfather, “Pop” Leslie Smith; uncle, Billy Dan Franks; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. V.B. Franks.
He is survived by his wife, Somer Smith; children, Keelan, Delaney, and Kyle; parents, Stephen and Loudee Smith; brothers, Forrest and Jeb Smith; and grandmother, Maudine Smith.
Pallbearers are Jason Woodard, Wesley Stafford, Jason Helton, Robert Gibbs, Wesley Sherer, Zack Humphries, Shane Jennings, and Whit Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be his Department of Transportation Crew.
Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
