Elsie N. Dawson, age 91, formerly of LaGrange Community passed away February 26, 2015. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Service will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel, with burial to follow at Old Bethel Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Dawson Jr., and grandson Dustin Parker. Survivors are sons Melvin Dawson, Hubert Dawson (Evelyn), Kenneth Dawson, (Gail),daughters, Betty Mardis (Bobby), Martha Abernathy (Bob), Emily Parker (Harold), Carolyn Maness (Charles), Nancy Hall (Junior), Ouida Wilson (Mike), Regina Osborn (Curtis). She is survived by 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking and quilting. She devoted her life to her family. She was a wonderful hard working mother which will be greatly missed.
