George W. Gilchrist age 68, of Tuscumbia, Al passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 12pm to 2 pm. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow in Chapel at 2:00 P.M. He was the husband of Janice Gilchrist. Burial will follow in the Colbert Memorial Gardens. He was a member of Hook Street Baptist, and attended Tuscumbia Valley Baptist Church, member of American Legion Post 11, Masonic Lodge # 503, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 63.
He was preceded in death by parents; Bill and Lucille Gilchrist.
Survivors are wife of 38 wonderful years, Janice Gilchrist, daughter; Beth Moore (Marc), son; Stephen Gilchrist (Kendall), grandchildren; Jana-Beth Moore, Leelu and Arlo Gilchrist, brother; Danny Gilchrist (Plinnie), sisters; Marie Ghrisby (Mark), Annie Risner. A host of loving nieces and nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Gilchrist, Mike Ghrisby, Will Irons, Mark Pounders, David Pounders and Lile Stonecipher.
