The Reverend Orville Wilson Clark, age 95, passed from this Earth the 28th day of April, 2016 to spend eternity in Heaven where he finally heard the words from King Jesus, "Well done thy good and faithful servant". Visitation will be Sunday, May 1st beginning at 12 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2 pm with Reverend Jerry Glenn and Reverend Marty Kelly.
Orville was born October 1, 1920 in Giles, Tennessee. He and his wife Anna Geneva (Durham) Clark were married for over 68 years. God blessed their marriage with five children, David (Vicki) Clark of Muscle Shoals, AL, Gene (Martha) Clark of Muscle Shoals, AL, Mike (Mammie) Clark of Tuscumbia, AL, Sharon (Mark) Beaver of Chattanooga, TN, and Twana (Ronnie) Ray of Chattanooga, TN, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Orville was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, becoming an ordained minister in the Church of God in 1967. He pastored over seven churches in Tennessee and Alabama before retiring from the ministry. He will also be remembered as a lifetime member of the Iron Workers Union Local No. 477 in Sheffield, Alabama after 37 years of service. A proud veteran, Orville served in the Army during WWII, participating in the liberation of the Buchenwald concentration camp.
Pallbearers will be Andy, Stuart and Todd Clark, Eric Tedder, Josh Dawson, and Russell Bradford.
Special honorary pallbearer will be grandson Staff Sgt Matthew Ray who is currently serving overseas.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Colbert Memorial Chapel in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
