Shelba Jean Stanley

 Shelba Jean Earl Stanley, 78, Muscle Shoals made her transition from Earth to her home with Jesus Christ in heaven at 7 a.m.  November 18, 2014. 

She was born on October 2, 1936 to Henry and Alma Earl of Welsh, LA.  Affectionately known by “MeMe” by her grandchildren and greatly loved by family and friends. She made a lasting impression on all people that she met.  Her smile and caring demeanor brought joy to numerous people.

Shelba was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Alma Earl, and her brother James D. Earl.  She is survived by husband Roland of 59 wonderful years, and sons Roland Jr. (Butch) and wife Lynn of Decatur, Martin (Marty) and wife Gwen, of Greenhill, granddaughter Rachael Sweet, Louisville, KY, grandsons Matthew and wife Amanda, Rogersville, AL, Adam Stanley, Decatur, AL,  Marcus Stanley, Florence, AL and great-grandson Bennett Stanley, Rogersville, AL

As a member of Grace Communion International Church, she worked in the ministry alongside her husband for 35 years.  She received ministerial training from Ambassador College, Pasadena, California. 

Shelba’s working life consisted of mostly sales and merchandising employment which allowed her to interact with people, which she greatly enjoyed.  She was a people person and joy bringer!

A memorial service in celebration of Shelba’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday, 10-11 A.M.

Thanks and appreciation to Alacare nurses Amanda and Tanya, the good nurses on Keller 4th floor who cared for her during her recent illness and to Dr. Randy Pounders for many years of care.
