Lonnie Dee William Matlock

Lonnie Dee William Matlock passed from his earthly home on June 20th, 2016, at the age of 84. He was born and raised in Colbert County and made his home in Spring Valley. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.  at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11:00 in the chapel. Brother Eddie Osborn will be officiating.

Mr. Matlock was preceded in death by his father, Horace Matlock; mother, Lillian Wells; brothers, Jerry  Archie and Joe Matlock; granddaughter, Angela Hamm.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia Ledlow Matlock; children, Lonnie Dewayne Matlock (Rhonda), Jackie Smith (Noland), Elaine Kerr (Steve), Tony Matlock (Melanie), Linda Matlock, Michelle Franks, Jennifer Johnson (Gary); sisters, Myrtle Shirley (Edgar) and Jeanette Vanderford; brother, Curtis Matlock; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Doug, Gary and Steve Ledlow, Dorris Tolbert, and Jason and Jeremy Stone. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Turbyfill, Edgar Shirley, and Ryan King.

Lonnie, aka Tooter, Lonzo, Pops, Papa Lonnie, D will, Lying Willie, The Boss, and the Great, was a special person loved by all. He will be missed by his family and friends. If you ever met Lonnie Matlock, you never forgot who he was!
